the main menu

blink! settings can be changed during a work period, by selecting Activate blink! from the blink! folder in the Start Menu. Any or all of the user defined settings can then be altered.

The "Demonstration Mode" is preset to a 30 second work period followed by a 60 second break, to quickly demonstrate the functionality of blink!

break duration

The Setup Menu allows the user to select an appropriate work/break duration of which blink! allows the following options:

  • 50 minute work period and 10 minute break
  • 25 minute work period and 5 minute break
  • 13 minute work period and 2 minute break
  • sound

The user can toggle the following break reminder sounds on or off:

  • Break Start Notification
  • Break End Notification
  • In addition, the user can turn the Menu Sounds on or off.

    display modes

The user can toggle the following display modes:

  • Always on Top - ensures blink! is displayed on top of other applications when a break commences
  • Show/hide blink! on startup - will show/hide the blink! Main Menu whenever the computer is started. Selecting Hide (default) enables blink! to start when the computer starts without requiring user input
  • software compatibility

Our testing has found that blink! works with ANY program running on your computer.

We recommend though that blink! be disabled BEFORE playing GRAPHIC intensive games. Why?...because games are usually designed to work on their OWN, with no other programmes operating in the background.

We've found blink! works SO well that all the games we've tested are interrupted, even when the game is designed to have FULL control of your computer!

To date, we can verify blink! system requirements to be as follows:

  • Windows 95, 98, NT4, 2000 (or greater, although only some later operating systems have been fully tested)
  • blink! itself only uses a little over 2MB RAM
  • 2MB hard disk space
  • 1.44MB 3.5" floppy disk or CD-ROM drive (if installing from disk)
  • Minimum 256 colours (although blink will function with 16 colours)
  •
